Title Insurance for Home Buyers

Generally speaking, the seller of real estate in Western Wisconsin is responsible for providing evidence that they are passing a clean title to the new buyer. A title insurance policy is often the most economical way to achieve proof of a clear title. The seller generally pays for the title insurance policy. Sellers typically pay between $400 - $1,000 for title insurance in the Eau Claire area.

Many transactions actually have two title insurance policies: One that covers the seller and another that covers the lender. The lender's title insurance policy is less expensive (around $125) and is customarily paid by the buyer.
